Airline Review: Kenya Airways (Business Class)

Plane: Boeing 777-200ER
Pitch: 76"
Width: 22"
Route: Hong Kong to Nairobi

Check-in was flawless and smooth.  Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) needs to have a fast-lane for Business/First Class passengers at the security scanning like most other airports.  As Kenya Airways is part of Skyteam, passengers get to enjoy some cheese and wine at the Skyteam lounge before boarding.

Tired is the kindest word I can use to describe the plane.  It is plainly showing its age, and the hardware (screen, controls, etc.) way passed its prime.  This is slightly below par for Business Class. Seat was alright; not lie-flat.  There is also not enough room for storage.  AVOD is extremely outdated with old earphones, and the audio is hit-or-miss (the one on my outbound flight wasn't working).

The turning point came when food was served.  The menu was excellent, with an adequate wine carte, freshly prepared local food, warm bread, elegant tableware, and attentive service.

Not the greatest J-class product, but it's also significantly cheaper.  However, there were only 5 or 6 passengers out of 28 seats on both journeys, regardless of its price point.
